Christie's Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth laid out the green carpet for celebrities who are lending their star power for a bid to save the earth. Celebrities are turning out to be among the biggest players in philanthropy in 2010. The Green Auction exemplifies what can be achieved when a fantastic mix of people from various industries, unite for one purpose: to advocate for the environment.

Christie's, along with NBC Universal, Barneys New York, and Charitybuzz, put together an incredible star-studded campaign called "A Bid to Save the Earth" tied to the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day ( http://www.abidtosavetheearth.org). This huge initiative will raise funds for 4 environmental not-for-profits — Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International, and Central Park Conservancy. In addition to a live auction at Christie's, complete with A-list attendees and "green carpet" on April 22nd, there will be a companion online silent auction at http://www.charitybuzz.com from April 8 – May 6.
