The first annual LGBTQ Youth Back to School Pride Celebration , a free event was held on September 27, 2008 in Brooklyn’s Langston's Lounge. Hosted by “One For All Community Pride Network”, this non-profit is dedicated to celebrating diversity, building unity and strengthening the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and supportive communities within the Borough of Brooklyn and the greater New York City area. The LGBTQ Youth Back to School Pride Celebration was formed to celebrate the positive choices that youth are making by staying in school, not giving up, overcoming the odds and traveling down the right path to making their dreams come true.
