More than 200 guests attended the 6th annual "Heart & Soul" Gala at the Palm Beach Breaker's Circle Ballroom overlooking the Atlantic. The Honorees were Dorothy Lappin, President the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation and Jan Haniford , the Dean of Dance, former principal Dancer The Joffrey Ballet, and the NETHERLAND Ballet, and others.
A special performance choreographed by Margo Sappington was performed by the Dance Students of the Dreyfoos School in Honor of Jan and Dorothy.
Movie star and singer Gianni Russo flew in from New York to perform with his Trio and the International acclaimed Ball Room Dancers, Cheryl and Omar danced a Slow Foxtrot to a tune by Nat King Cole. The gala was held to benefit Career Transition For Dancers and raised the most money this year targeted for scholarships. Anka Palitz founded this Palm Beach event and her Co-Chairs were Ann Van Ness and Jenny Myerberg.
