On Monday, March 9th New York City Opera Renaissance presented a Gala Concert and Dinner to celebrate the life of the late Maestro Julius Rudel, longtime general director and principal conductor of the New York City Opera. A glittering array of opera stars including David Daniels, Mark Delavan, Plácido Domingo, Christine Goerke, James Morris, Frederica von Stade—and multi-platinum legend Sting—performed classic and modern works, including the world premiere performance of Tobias Picker's "The Waking". The Gala took place at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Time Warner Center, New York.
