Reception hosted by Susan Gutfreund and a dinner at the Greek Embassy residence in honor of Maestro Marios Papadopoulos, Music Director and Founder of the Oxford Philharmonic
On a recent visit to New York, Maestro Marios Papadopoulos, Music Director of the Oxford Philharmonic, brought principal soloists from the orchestra for two salon-style performances to thank American Patrons for their support. Susan Gutfreund hosted a reception and recital at her Fifth Ave. apt in honor of Maestro; and Antonia and Spiros Milonas together with H.E. Dr. Catherine Boura, the Permanent Representative from Greece to the United Nations, hosted a recital and seated dinner at the Embassy Residence. Those who attended the two special evenings included Annabelle & Alberto Mariaca, Ann Nitze, Suzanne Kohlberg, Dafne Meitar, Karen Burke, Frank Richardson & Kimba Woods, Kari Tiedemann, William Bernhard, Saundra Whitney, Mai Harrison, Maya & Phillip Bobbitt, Roberta Sandeman, Louis Perlman & Julie Vacca, John Catsimatides, Ginny & David Butters, Anne-Marie and Peter Embiricos, Jeanne Lawrence, Anne Mann, Jessica & Peter Tcherepnine, Shirley Lord Rosenthal and Peter Heywood, Elena & John Coumantaros, April and Roddy Gow, Jean Doumanian, and Lee and David MacCallum. The Oxford Philharmonic launched its American Friends patrons group last October in a debut performance with Maxim Vengerov. In 2017, the Orchestra is hosting its American Friends in London on June 19th at a Summer Party at the Wallace Collection when it will launch its 20th anniversary celebrations. Those on the Dinner Committee include: Ann Nitze, CeCe Black, Diana Quasha, Faanya Rose and Saundra Whitney.
