On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, Board member David Tobey and his wife Julie hosted the Friends of the Budapest Festival Orchestra for a chamber concert and cocktail reception in their home. The FBFO assists in raising funds in the United States for the internationally-renowned Budapest Festival Orchestra.
This event introduced a new partnership between the Budapest Festival Orchestra and The Juilliard School. Juilliard students will travel to Budapest to study from and perform with the Orchestra. Guests had the treat of hearing Juilliard Master of Music candidate Noémi Sallai on clarinet, accompanied by pianist Luis Ortiz. The two performed pieces by Zoltán Kodály, Johannes Brahms, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
