Sculptor George Petrides Has a Busy December Supporting Charities through Donations of his Sculptures
On December 4th, 2021, The Hellenic Initiative conducted its 9th annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street: prominent guests included corporate leaders, members of the Greek Royal family, and Greek dignitaries. Petrides donated 3 sculptures which contributed to the $2 million raised. Then on December 16, his two-artist exhibition with the abstract painter Nassos Daphnis opened at the Greek Consulate in NY at 69 East 79th Street and is intended to travel to other cultural venues - sales will support New York arts nonprofits such as the New York Studio School where he studied and the New York Foundation for the Arts. And on the days before Christmas, Hope Genesis, a non-profit supporting fertility in rural areas of Greece, will be auctioning off a sculpture of a pregnant woman that he custom made for Hope Genesis.
