Friends of the Children is an early intervention program that breaks the cycle of generational poverty for children most at-risk. We select children in kindergarten and provide them with a consistent, caring advocate who guides them for 12 years so they become productive members of their communities. Friends of the Children is rigorous in our approach and serious about metrics, ensuring that our Achievers meet three primary goals: graduate from high school with a plan for the future having avoided the juvenile justice system and teen parenthood. "An Evening with Friends: wine, dine, and dance," is the organization's signature event that took place on April 16th at the Edison Ballroom. Guests enjoyed an evening of generosity, inspiration, and dancing while raising over $450,000 towards its mission.
